STRATEGY: social service agencies

We visited three social service agencies: Ons Plek (for orphaned girls), City Mission (a home for boys and school programs/camps for homeless kids) and Homestead (an intake shelter for boys). Since I am not intimately familiar with social service agencies in the States, I don’t know how to compare what I saw here. Each place, though, felt overcrowded, run down, and overwhelmed with the homeless street kid situation. But they did have some interesting avenues to unite kids with the families and help kids with getting back on their feet.
