Mombasa

Rachel and I went to Mombasa, on the coast of Kenya, to prepare Caravan logistics. Mombasa is quite a unique place, a blend of Muslim, Indian and African communities. There are mosques around every bend, blasting their prayers through loud speakers five times a day. It was interesting learning about the African-Muslim traditions... like this strong Arabian coffee. Here, about to enjoy this coffee, I'm with Tom discussing the role of women and why so many women wear complete veils, only showing their eyes.

Old town is a cozy place with winding streets and lots of tuktuks (little taxi things like the one pictured here)... "it's all about belief"-- yup, that's true!
